Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?

No. The tool collects only six pieces of information: your gender, age, general health level, whether you use tobacco, how much coverage you want and what term length interests you. That is all we need to fetch real carrier rates. Personal details like your name, address and medical history are only requested if you decide to apply for a policy.

Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?

The prices shown are the monthly premiums each carrier quoted for the underwriting class you selected. After you apply, the carrier will underwrite your application and may confirm that class, move you to a better one, or adjust it down. The final price is set by the carrier, not by this site. Nothing here is a price guarantee or an offer of coverage.

What happens when I click Apply?

You will enter your name and choose one of the quotes from the display. That quote becomes the basis for your application, which then opens on the carriers' secure platform. You can save and return to finish it later, and you sign everything electronically. Susman Insurance Agency, a California-licensed agency (License 0B75129), handles the application on your behalf.

Will I need a medical exam?

It depends on the carrier, the amount of coverage and your health answers. Many carriers now use what they call accelerated underwriting: they decide based on your application answers, prescription records and driving history rather than a physical exam. When an exam is required, it is usually a short visit with a paramedic at your home or office. The quote for each carrier shows whether an exam is needed, possibly needed or not needed for that product.

Is a longer term better?

A term is the fixed number of years your coverage lasts. You should choose a term that covers the specific years when your family would struggle if your income disappeared: while you have a mortgage, young kids at home, or a business that depends on you. A longer term locks in your rate for more years, but costs more each month. The quote tool lets you compare 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30-year terms from every carrier in one view.

Does this site sell my information?

No. The quote tool does not collect your name or contact information, we do not buy or sell visitor data, and our website measurement does not use cookies. Read the privacy page for the exact details of what we collect, how long we keep it and who sees it.
